Jaipur – The Paan City
Oops ! Its actually supposed to be the Pink city, but the amount of paan spit that people leave all over the place makes me think of this place more as a paan city. There is hardly any corner that does not have paan over it. I won’t go over the city as it is covered by most guides. A few pics are there in the gallery.

Started out from Jaipur after lunch. Stopped at a petrol pump just outside the city for filling up. A chap there on a splendor was quite derisive of my bike – it has no milage he says . Well, there was only one thing to do – “Dilli chal rahe ho kya bike pe ? Chalo na … dekhte hain tumhari mileage waali bike kaise chalti hai”. Of course he had no reply for that and rushed off from there in the opposite direction as soon as he was done filling in his 1lt petrol.

Butt Break. The Delhi Jaipur is touted as  one of the great roads in India. Well, its ok. Its a 4 laner , and most of the Golden quadrilateral is now being made into a 4 lane, so it is not something new for me. But being the first stretch , like the Mumbai – Pune expressway, its claim to self proclaimed fame is quite bit. The traffic here is quite well behaved. People follow their own lanes, and give side when you honk to overtake. Mostly I was cruising at 100kmph with a few spurts to 120kmph.

Passing through Gurgaon. Suddenly I see a CBZ guy come parallel to me. He looks over the luggage and starts talking …
“Hey. Where are you coming from?”
“Pune”.
“Wow ! Do you know Xbhp ?”.
“Yeah. Do you know Bikenomads?”
Decided to stop and talk rather than riding parallel and giving problems to the traffic. When he got to know that I have both a CBZ and a ZMA, he immideately became a friend. We exchanged phone numbers, and he decided to escort me to R.K.Puram where I was to meet my parents (who had started the same morning from Dehradun). Thanks Mani !

Reached the Forest Rest House at R.K.Puram to find that my parents had not yet reached. Checked into my room and waited for them.
The next few days were spent in delhi meeting up with friends and relatives.
